A Market Study Evaluating the Competitiveness of the Lebanese Textile

This survey was part of a broader study aimed at evaluating the competitiveness of Lebanon's textile industry compared to other Middle Eastern countries. It was comprised of interviews with 20 firm managers covering each firm's basic data, governmental policy towards the sector, industrial performance and competitiveness in local and foreign markets, and the managers' evaluation of the impact of the peace process as well as the changes in the world trading system. This study was jointly executed by Mr. Riad El Khoury (MABA LTD Economic and Business Consultants).
The study results were presented in an expert group meeting entitled "The Impact of the Peace Process on Selected Sectors". This workshop was co-sponsored by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), Federal Republic of Germany Economic Research Forum for the Arab Countries, Iran and Turkey.
