The Lebanese Judiciary: State Building and Institutional Development

A result of a 1998 conference titled, "The Prospects of the Judicial System in Lebanon." The book features a main paper on the Lebanese judicial sector in law and practice as well as 16 thematic papers on different aspects of the judicial sector. Such papers include the experience of the constitutional council, the role of the higher judicial council, the experience of tribunal courts, and the appointment and transfer of judges. Lastly, it offers suggestions and proposes strategies of judicial reform.
