The Application of Survey Research to Governance Issues in the Middle East and North Africa Region

LCPS held a training workshop that focused on the generation, use and analysis of governance data. The survey research workshop was planned within the context of the program on "Governance Knowledge Sharing Program", that LCPS implemented with the support of the World Bank and which was envisioned as part of a regional initiative on governance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
The training workshop was held for young researchers from the Mashreq and the Maghreb regions. The first half explored the state of survey research and governance in areas in selected countries of the MENA region. The second half presented the detailed process and the various stages of the pilot survey on Decentralization and Performance of Local Government implemented in Lebanon and Morocco.
The workshop was held in cooperation with the World Bank.
