The Iraqi Crisis: Questions and Consequences

Participants in this dialogue meeting included researchers, academics, analysts, and intellectuals from backgrounds of political science, economics, social studies, military affairs, and media. Individuals interested in the upcoming war on Iraq who have been focusing and researching different dimensions of that topic were also involved. The meeting aimed at discussing the causes and consequences of the war for the future of Iraq, Lebanon, and the Arab region in its entirety. While encouraging open expression of participants’ opinions, the meeting focused on three main areas: the political and economic goals of the United States and other world powers, the future of Iraq, and the possible transformations brought about by the crisis in the region.
