October 09, 2000Globalization and Social Policies in the Arab World This workshop, comprised of series of focus groups, brought together a group of key experts on social policy from Morocco, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. A concept paper aiming to identify how globalization is impacting the Arab labor markets was presented at the beginning of the meeting, after which participants presented diagnoses of issues troubling the labor markets as well as strategies, policies, and programs that were working to alleviate the negative impacts of globalization in their respective countries.
