July 11, 1997Lebanon and Europe: Forging New PartnershipsThis two- day conference on the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership followed up on a 1996 conference on the partnership between Lebanon and the EU. The conference was attended by senior officials, prominent academics, leading businessmen, as well as officials from the European Commission and the European Investment Bank. Speakers were either directly or indirectly involved with the negotiations between Lebanon and the European Union or in research in this field. The main aim of the conference was to familiarize the private sector with issues relating to the formation of joint ventures with European firms. It served as a unique forum for participants to meet with national and international experts in the field, establish contacts, and discuss potential European-Lebanese relations.
This conference was organized with support from the Konrad-Adenauer Foundation.
