Enhancing the Accountability & Transparency in the National Budget

Within the framework of its research study on transparency and accountability in the Lebanese public budget, LCPS held a roundtable discussion entitled “Promoting Transparency and Accountability in the Public Budget.”
The roundtable aimed to present and discuss various research papers prepared by a group of experts and researchers on the subject.
The research papers covered a variety of aspects influencing the transparency and accountability in preparing the Lebanese public budget, such as the role of the Parliament, the Court of Audit and the civil society, in addition to the importance of the media in covering both the process and the content of the public budget along with advice and recommendations on enhancing the transparency during the budget preparation process. 

The roundtable was organized with the support of the Open Society Foundation.
