January 01, 1995The Citizen and Civic Education in Lebanon - Teacher's GuideLCPS recognizes that teaching based on passive learning methods is insufficient to ensure the effectiveness of a civics curriculum for a generation that has been raised in an atmosphere of violence, intolerance, and corruption. This project addresses the need to shift from teaching through distant concepts and theories to using more participatory and interactive methods in order to engage students and enhance their learning process through the production of a teacher's guide and student's civics book entitled The Citizen and Civic Education in Lebanon: A Teachers' Guide. The teacher’s guide features class plans, activities, additional reading, and exercise material and is intended to help teachers apply the concepts and theories conveyed in the CCEL book into lesson plans, exercises, and case studies that translate and relate the learned concepts of real life situations.
