Between GATT AND WTO: Deadlines for Lebanon

This book discusses the main principles and rules of the GATT agreements (1947-1995) and the WTO (after 1995). It reviews the integration of Lebanon into the GATT in 1947, its withdrawal three years later, and considers the application of the WTO agreements in Lebanon. This book also questions the extent to which the Lebanese economic, commercial, and judicial system conforms to WTO principles, keeping in mind that Lebanon requested integration in 1999 and has been an observer member of the WTO since April 14, 1999. The author reviews many common misunderstandings of the WTO and tackles the challenges facing full Lebanese integration.
