For Syrians in Lebanon, No Formal Plan for Return


Heading into Lebanon’s election season, many politicians have adopted rhetoric encouraging the return of Syrian refugees to their home country. However, the Lebanese government would assuredly lose valuable international support if it were to officially endorse such measures. LCPS Researcher Dima Mahdi spoke with Syria Deeply’s Hashem Osseiran about what is behind calls for repatriation, how they relate to the country’s disassociation policy, and how non-state actors have and could engage in forced returns.
