Security Sector Reform in the Arab World
LCPS hosted a workshop which sought to explore new opportunities for regional security sector reform by exploring and critically examining the general concept of promoting reforms in select Arab states. Participants produced policy recommendations which aimed to improve the sector with regard to enhancing effectiveness, building capacity, and sharing regional experiences. The workshop looked at democracies in transition and post-conflict democracies in order to see how and where security sector reform has been successful in the past.
The event was hosted in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.
