A Prospective Working Agenda for Judicial Reform in the Mena Region
As the culmination of two years worth of activities on the thematic program on “Rule of Law, Judicial Reforms and Development in the MENA region,” this workshop continued the discussions of two previous workshops. The first workshop addressed the status of legal professions in the MENA region. The second workshop discussed the questions of how to promote the independence and integrity of the judiciary, develop the legal professions, modernize the administration of justice, enlarge access to justice, to reform the legal systems and promote the rule of law, democracy and development in the MENA region. The third workshop was held during the MDF5 and aimed at establishing a working agenda for judicial reform that would exemplify the needs and aspirations of legal professionals in the MENA region.
